My Child’s Map to Services
Family Voices of WA,
WA State Title V and “other” Washington State Parent organizations worked
together to create My Child’s Map to Services a template for families. The tool
serves as a quick reference guide for families just receiving a new diagnosis of
Autism for their child. No parent is ever prepared to hear that a child is
anything other than happy and healthy, and a diagnosis of autism can be
particularly scary. This tool is for parents wondering about what to do next.
There is so much information, good and bad, available on Autism now that we
wanted to simplify things for families just beginning their journey. It is also
available in Cambodian, Spanish and Korean.

CDC Autism Fact Sheet "Learn the Signs. Act Early"
The Autism Fact Sheet provides a one-page tool for clinicians to share with families, to raise awareness about developmental delay, which may be related to autism or other developmental disabilities. The fact sheet encourages parents who have concerns about their child’s development to speak with their doctor. Translated into multiple languages to reach underserved populations in CA, by the USC UCEDD faculty, staff, and trainees. The USC UCEDD completed an extensive review process in developing these translations, consulting both parents and health care professionals.
- The Autism Fact Sheet is available in Arabic, Armenian, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese from: http://uscucedd.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=455&Itemid=426.
You can also contact Cary Kreutzer, MPH, RD at ckreutzer@chla.usc.edu to obtain copies or if you have any questions.
- English and Spanish versions of the fact sheet are available from the CDC at
